BRAIN FARM CINEMA AUDIO SUITE
Brain Farm Digital Cinema is a turn-key boutique production house specializing in aerial photography and all facets of capturing and producing the highest end HD digital cinema for film, TV, web, and commercial outlets.
When Curtis Morgan (President/CEO) decided to add an audio editing, mixing, and tracking facility he came to Noah Waldron of Capsicum Pro Audio to assist in the design and installation. The goal was to install a world class system with some of the highest quality equipment, in a compact room and have it be acoustically accurate.
At the heart of the Brain Farm system is a ProTools HD3 system consisting of two Digidesign 192’s for I/O.The Digidesigns are clocked using an Apogee Big Ben. The ProTools HD3 system was chosen because of its versatility and integration with film and television. ProTools is the industry standard for tracking, mixing, and editing of music and film audio.
To control the monitors for the tracking and mixing rooms we had chosen the Dangerous Music Monitor ST. The Dangerous Monitor ST is a remote-control accessed input source switcher/speaker switcher/cue system/talkback system/ headphone amplifier all in a one rack space package. The Monitor ST was chosen because of its versatility, quality, and the ability to expand into a 5.1 surround sound controller by the addition of the Monitor SR module.
The Dangerous Music Monitor ST is controlling a pair of Focal Professional Solo6 Be powered studio monitors. The Solo6 Be’s were chosen because of their transparency, and quality. Within minutes of installing the Solo6 Be we were all very impressed with their quality. Tight and punchy in the mid/low to low frequency range, transparent in the midrange, and very smooth and natural in the higher frequency range. It was obvious that the Focal Solo6 Be was the right choice for this room.
The outboard gear for this is room is some of the best the industry has to offer of classic/vintage and modern favorites.
